Privacy policy

AI Brain (“AI Brain”, “we”, “us”) is a place to keep the knowledge, skills and instructions you want your AI to work from, and to connect the AI tools you choose to it. It is run from Idaho, in the United States, at brainformyai.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@brainformyai.com.
The short version: what you put in AI Brain is yours. We use it only to run the service for you. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and nothing else from your Google account.
- What you put in. The brains, folders and files you create or upload, their names and descriptions, the instructions you write for your AI, earlier versions of your files, and anything typed into a Live Output page, by you or by people you share it with.
- Settings and choices. Your plan, your settings, who you share things with, and which brains and files your AI can use.
- Messages to us. Feedback you send from the app and requests to join the teams waiting list, with the email address of your account.
- Technical information. When you use the service, our hosting providers record ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type and the time of the request, to keep the service running and secure.
- Payments, when paid plans open. Card payments will be handled by our payment provider. We will never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To provide AI Brain: storing your files, showing them to you and to the people you share them with, and giving them to the AI tools you connect.
- To keep your account secure, to prevent abuse, and to apply your plan's limits.
- To send emails you need: confirming your address, resetting your password, and important notices about your account or this policy.
- To answer your feedback and support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't read your files except where you ask us to help with something, where it is needed to keep the service secure, or where the law requires it. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
Connecting an AI
AI Brain lets you connect AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT and others, using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Nothing is connected unless you connect it, and you can disconnect any AI at any time from your account.
- What a connected AI can reach. Only your brains, files and instructions, within the limits you set: each file can be closed to AI, readable by AI, or readable and editable by AI. A connected AI can never see your password, share anything with other people, empty your trash, change your plan or billing, or reach another person's files unless that person has shared them with you.
- What the AI provider receives. When your AI reads something from AI Brain, that content is sent to the AI provider you connected, to answer you. From then on it is handled under that provider's own privacy policy and your agreement with them, not this one. Connect only AI tools you trust with the material you keep here.
- What we receive from the AI. The requests it makes and anything it writes or changes in AI Brain on your behalf, which are stored like any other change you make, with version history.
- No training. We don't use your content, or what your AI reads or writes here, to train any AI model.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run AI Brain. They process information only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: our database, file storage and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Cloudflare: runs our domain and forwards email sent to us.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- A payment provider, once paid plans open.
We also share information when you tell us to, for example by sharing a file with someone or connecting an AI, when the law requires it, to protect people or the service from harm, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of AI Brain, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information. We never sell your personal information.
Where it is kept
Our providers store and process information in the United States and may process it in other countries where they operate. Wherever it is handled, we expect it to be protected as this policy describes.
How long we keep it
- Your files stay for as long as you keep them in your account.
- Things you delete go to your trash and are removed for good after your trash period, 30 days unless you change it, or straight away if you empty the trash.
- For recovery, we keep copies of your account's contents for up to 30 days, and our database provider keeps backups for a short period after that.
- If you delete your account, we delete your information within 30 days, apart from copies in backups, which expire on their own within a further 30 days, and anything we must keep by law.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to every file is checked by the database itself on every request, so a file is only ever reachable by you, the people you share it with, and the AI tools you connect. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your information we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can see and delete your files at any time in the app, and change and download them within what your plan allows. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it, by writing to hello@brainformyai.com. We will answer within 30 days.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or a US state with its own privacy law, you have these rights by law, and may also object to or restrict how we use your information. We rely on our contract with you to provide the service, and on our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Age
AI Brain is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
